CARSON CITY, Nev. &#8212 Nevada's unemployment rate dipped below 12 percent in April for the first time in nearly three years, with much of the improvement attributed to a shrinking labor pool even though there were positive signs of job growth in the private sector, the state reported Friday.

The last inmates left months ago, and now the 150-year-old Nevada State Prison is being officially taken out of service.

Roberts will appear before the board of trustees tonight to propose his desire to represent NCSD as a lobbyist in Carson City during the state legislature's 77th session beginning in February.
